The Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Centre (CARTAC) is one of ten IMF Regional Technical Assistance Centers (RTACs) located around the world in the Pacific, the Caribbean, in Africa, the Middle East, India and Central America. These Centres were created to help countries strengthen human and institutional capacity to design and implement sound macroeconomic policies that promote growth and reduce poverty.

A CARTAC technical assistance mission on External Sector Statistics was carried out at the Central Bank of Belize from June 30 to July 9, 2025. The mission focused mainly on reviewing data collection and consistency of the preliminary standard international investment position presentation with balance of payments financial account transactions. A technical assistance mission on the Balance of Payments was provided to the Bank of the Republic of Haiti during July 9-15, 2025. The focus of the mission was to improve the quality of balance of payments statistics by identifying potential sources of significant net errors and omissions by investigating the data sources and methodologies implemented mainly in the goods and services account, secondary income account, and other investment.#IMFCAPDEV #CARTAC #ExternalSectorStatistics
