CARTAC currently facilitates summer internships under the Macroeconomics and Financial Sector Supervision Programmes. The Macroeconomic Internship Programme was launched during the summer of 2008 by the Macroeconomic Adviser Miriam Blanchard and in 2013 the Financial Sector Supervision Adviser, Mr. Courtney Christie-Veitch, launched a similar programme.

The Macroeconomic Internship Programme emerged as a result of a growing concern among CARTAC’s Steering Committee members about the inadequacy of the Economics graduates of the University of the West Indies (UWI) campuses, in the area of operational work.

Continuing this effort, and with the support of the hosting institutions (Central Bank of Barbados, Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Bank of Jamaica, Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Centre for Money and Finance), CARTAC is able to provide valuable internship opportunities every summer for the selected graduates.
