The Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Centre (CARTAC) is one of ten IMF Regional Technical Assistance Centers (RTACs) located around the world in the Pacific, the Caribbean, in Africa, the Middle East, India and Central America. These Centres were created to help countries strengthen human and institutional capacity to design and implement sound macroeconomic policies that promote growth and reduce poverty.

On behalf of the development partners of the Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Center (CARTAC), Malcolm Geere from the United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office expressed strong support for CARTAC and its member countries at the Steering Committee in Curaçao.
We thank the United Kingdom, as well as Canada, the European Union, the United States (USAID), the Netherlands, Mexico, the Caribbean Development Bank, and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank for their support to economic growth and resilience in the Caribbean.

Officials from members of the IMF's Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Center (CARTAC) and development partners gathered in Curaçao on June 6 to launch the center's 6th phase.
Priorities for this new phase include:
- rebuilding fiscal space,
- supporting inclusive and sustainable growth, and
- building resilience to climate change.
The International Monetary Fund thanks Canada, the European Union, Mexico, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Caribbean Development Bank, and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (CARTAC's hashtag#IMFPartners), as well as CARTAC's host country, Barbados, Steering Committee host, Curaçao, and CARTAC member countries for their commitment to enhancing economic institutions and policies in the Caribbean.
